Originally owned by the artist, Beth Keiser (Knox, Indiana).

Gifted by the artist to Joseph Beil, as recorded by the artist’s inscription.

Later discovered within the Newton House, Chapel Hill, North Carolina, during preservation efforts.

The Newton House was designed by architect John Webb and occupied by the Newton family for more than five decades.

Acquired for the Miles Collection.
